 Dear Parents,

Wish you all Happy New Year 2012!

Hope everyone enjoyed their children during the break!!

Dear Parents,

October was fun month as we did fun things!

The children looked cute in different Halloween costumes and we all had fun going in front of the school and showing off the costumes and singing songs to the passers-by.
The children also enjoyed sharing candy with friends as they get to pass the candy or goodies to their friends.

If you took pictures during the Halloween parade or if you even have pictures or memories connected to Prime Montessori, you can post on the fan page so other parents and grandparents can enjoy them.

We talked about trick or treat safety rules. Hope all children will follow them!

We learned about spiders and owls and their interesting facts.

We talked about bones and learned about the human skeleton and how to take care of our bones by eating healthy food and exercising. We learnt the number of bones in human skeleton (206) and identifying major bones— skull, rib cage, pelvic bone, clavicle, patella (knee bone), spine, humerus, femur, etc. We will continue to learn about bones in November as we didn’t have much time in October.

We are continuing to count in Spanish 1-20 everyday and learning and adding more new words for our sign language list. I will email the sign language word list asap.

Welcome toPrimeMontessoriSchool!

Hope everybody had great summer!

Every month a newsletter will be posted at http://primemontessori.wordpress.com.  Please check there for the newsletter as well as any updates.

Our staff is: Mrs.Sujatha Reddy, Ms. Laura Luttrell and Ms. Rebekah Burns.

To run our program smoothly, we need your cooperation in following the following rules.

1.       Please sign your FULL signature on the sign-in-sign-out sheet when you drop-off and pick-up your child. It is required by the law. Changing Tides parents: Please make sure to sign the time-sheet too, which is underneath the sign-in-sign –out sheet on the clip board.

2.       Changing Tides parents – you have to pay one month tuition in advance as reserve, as we get paid late and often less from Changing Tides. So September amount will be due by 3rd September.

3.       Please follow the time on the wall clock so we all are on the same time schedule.

4.       Please write the exact time you drop-off and pick-up your child on the sign-in-sign-out sheet.

5.       When picking up your child, please make sure to check her or his folder; it would have the work your child has done that day.

6.       Bring an extra set of clothes in a Ziploc bag (not in a grocery bag), with your child’s name on the bag and on the clothes. If your child is in diapers, please put pull-ups on and bring extra pull-ups to the school – we can help potty training.

7.       Bring an old sweater or a sweatshirt to leave at the school as the weather changes unexpectedly. Make sure to write your child’s name on the jackets.

8.       About the immunizations, if the paper work is not done by September 10th, we cannot accept your child, because we will be cited for that.

9.       No special toys are allowed except what is for show & tell. Books are always welcome.  If your child brings a toy, we are not responsible if they lose it or break it. So please keep the special toys at home.

10.   If your child is late or absent, please inform the school.

11.   Please check the front door as there might be some important notes posted on it.

12.   The tuition is due by the 3rd of the month. There will be a charge of $10 for late payments for every 1-5 days.

13.   Regarding the tuition fee, it is calculated for 42 weeks (= School year) and divided equally into 10 months. So, you will be paying the same amount every month irrespective of the number of weeks or days in a month. You will pay the tuition in full whether your child is present or absent. There is no reimbursement or adjustments for the missed days. If for any reason, if your child drops out of the program before the year ends, you have to pay the early drop out amount which will be calculated at the time of leaving the program.

 14.   You have to pay full amount of tuition in June as we calculate for every 4 weeks and you are charged only for 40 weeks and not 42 weeks. You are getting extra 2 weeks of free tuition. If your child is present or absent you still have to pay the tuition and there are no make up days for any absences. If you child is not adjusted to the program, we will tell you and maybe your child is not ready for this program yet and we can try after couple of months, or may be your child needs some other program where his/her needs are met better.

15.   Please pick and drop your child at the assigned times as other students will be coming for their session and the space is limited to certain number of children at a time. Please do not drop your child before their allotted time. If you are late picking up or early in dropping your child, you will be charged $6.00 for every 1- 5min. To avoid this, please pick your child right on time. If you are going to be late, please call and let us know but you will be still charged and please pay the late charge the same day.  Please co-operate with the timings as we have limited number of children and it will be hard for us.

16.   Please email me if you change your home, work, or cell telephone # or your email address. Our email address primemontessori@gmail.com

17.   If you have any concerns regarding your child or the program, please feel free to talk to me. Your input is important.

18.   Please let us know if you don’t want your child to participate in pledge or holiday activities. We respect your beliefs.

19.     Please make sure your child eats breakfast at home and not at the school. And also please make sure your child’s hands are clean when they enter the school as they will be working with the activities- which will be ants free and germ free.

20.   We do not monitor any kind of medications. Please do not give cough drops or vitamins in your child’s pocket or lunch as it can be allergic to other children.

21.   Please do not bring your child to the school if she or he has a fever, is vomiting, or had diarrhea the night before- the child has to be free from contagious disease for at least 24hrs. If not, you have to bring a note from the doctor that the child is not contagious any more.

22.   For those children who eat lunch at school, please pack a healthy lunch—no fruit snacks, only 100% juice, no chips, and no sugary items. We don’t mind warming up food for lunch, but we do not cook anything (ex: macaroni and cheese must already be prepared). Please pack the fruit in a bowl (cut the fruit). Please make sure to pack a spoon and a fork and a napkin.

23.   Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes and shoes to the school.
